Check this article from the LA Times. As of May 1, 2009 the rules have changed for appraisals on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans. If you ever thought you had to jump through hoops to buy a home, check out the new requirements for a loan. This will not only cause home sales to keep going lower, prices down and cost borrowers more money, but it will also keep a lot of home buyers from being able to buy.
