I think sales will remain on a downward trend until we see businesses hiring again. Businesses will not hire until the owners have an idea as to what will be happening with taxes and the overall economy. Nationwide unemployment for December was 10.0%. For the state of NC the unemployment went from 10.8% in November to 11.2% in December.
